....been an eventful winter for me so far. Right before Thanksgiving, I fractured my right elow on the edge of my chipper working a spruce tree. Lemme tellnya, that hurt way worse than the fractured wrist I had back in the summer of 2018! Well, that really hampered me because I had a lot of pruning jobs set up (all requiring rope climbing with no gaffs), that I had to put off. Right through hunting season and Christmas, that elbow was torturing me. Couldn't sleep, couldnt even touch it. Then, just like clockwork, I ended up getting the stomach flu the day after New Years. It was horrible for several days. Then the following weekend, I got hit with this respiratory crap that was going around, and that had hold of me for nearly a month. All the while, we did a job here and there to TRY and keep caught up. I'm finally feeling much better, and slowly getting back to the grind...... How's everyone's New Year going so far? Busy pin oak we pieced out... Jack pine we did the other evening.... Finally got a few saws put together too....one of my MS660's (gasket deleted, muffler mod) an 020T/MS200T basketcase hybrid (gasket deleted, shaved deck) and did a re-crank job on my first 064 (aftermarket crankshaft assy, the rod bearing was toast on the old one). Also base gasket deleted it as well. I have the squish on all three of these saws in the .020-.022 thousandth range. Hope everyone is doing well, looking forward to the spring GTG's!
Man, Scott... not likin' the first part of your post at all. Really glad you've got all that "fun" behind ya and you're back to hangin' in trees...
Your story sure made me appreciate my year so far. It's all about perspective. Glad your doing better and hope the rest of your year makes up for its start.
Glad you’re feeling better, dude. Holy smokes. That’s a rough one. I’m getting over a pretty bad chest and head cold right now, but it’s not much to complain about.
thanks brother, definitely not the way I wanted to end the old/begin the new year. yep,I'm back in my Happy Place! How's my sweetheart Vicki doin? thank you sir, gotta roll with the dice and deal that hand sometimes.... perspective for sure. Sometimes a chain of unfortunate events helps realign that perspective. I probably needed it....lol that stuff is no joke either. I hope the weather starts to make a turn. Been rainy/dreary/damp/dank/ miserable here most of the new year so far. That doesn't help with the mood, either...
Nice to see you on the mend and back in action, albeit probably not 100%. The older i get the more i appreciate the good days! New year okay here. No sickness. No snow makes me happy. Id like some frozen ground though.
I was hoping for some big snow and some honest cold so we could do some maple syrup, but sadly i fear that isn't going to happen this year. And yes to the frozen ground too......very had to get in some of these yards we have removals to do in without either frozen or dry ground.....
Vicki's doing good Scotty Overkill ... wears her out propin' me back upright most of the time... I was thinkin' about you being laid up for that many weeks... whew... your head must have just about sploded stayin' quiet for so long... poor Dodi...
Man Scotty, this year has to be gooder that that crud. Get plenty of rest, and quit hittin' yer eblow on stuff. I had bursitis in an elbow a long time ago and it was some of the worst pain I've had.
Scotty Overkill , I feel your pain. Took a chunk out of my NOT SO funny bone 15 years ago. Pain is an understatement. Had some nasty chest thing going on over Christmas, that was a month to really get over. I’m never sick and that one pretty much floored me. Take care and heal up, I can attest it’s always a slow start after a couple months of taking it easy.
Sorry to hear about your misfortunes. Hopefully the end of winter and spring are good to you. Whats going on in May?
I think the Good Lord is telling you to slow down. Guess what happens if you don't listen... Glad you're on the mend, brother.
