I continue to use my shingles until the bark sloughs off, from diassembly/reassembly of my hauses. When the barkless shingles then move on to be fireplace kindling.

 

Pretty interesting! I gather you are just burning excess bark up?

 

Yes, just a burn pile. Bark was all wet but I started a fireball in the middle and just started stacking it on around it with a little chimney hole. Eventually, about three hours later it was fully engulfed. Goofing around on the first sunny afternoon after somewhere around 51 days. Seattle area.
