Will the gray hair and grunting when I move be enough? :coffee:

Welcome to you! Nice log setup, I can agree with you on the logs and your amount of wood you burn. Seems like a lot of work and your time is valuable.

    Welcome to the forum Redneckchevy.

This year we don't hear of too many who have much snow or have had much cold. So much for winter.

Getting logs like that can save a lot of work!

It is very nice, the last 5 years every weekend I would grab the ice fishing sled, my saw, gas oil, the works and head to the woods and hand pull the sled back and forth from were I was cutting to the truck tell I had a full load, and a full 8ft truck box will last a week. So having the logs 40 yards from the stove is like a dream.

On a side note, I got a box in the mail today. It may be sad that I was excited to see it, wish it was hydraulics but that's put of my price range lol. KIMG0048.JPG

But who knows? There may come a day when you'll be thankful to get those hydraulics. I fondly recall all the years I hand split and enjoyed it. Then my body took a big hit and could no longer do that. I remember the day I bought the hydraulics. I had made a deal at the farm store to buy one unassembled. I put it together and then after filling with oil I had to try it out. I laughed until I almost cried. I loved it! Have loved it ever since. The nice part too is that it requires very little maintenance.

Growing up we heated with wood and my dad worked 3rd shift and he would get a full truck load on his way home from work when he could. He would back up to the wood pile and it would be my job to unload and split it. I did some by hand but most was done with a hydraulic splitter. They are so nice and miss having one to use. But I will say I tried out the new friskars isocore I just got and it is a very nice splitting mual. But one day I will have hydraulics again, tell then :axe:
