Don't see it much here. Kids and full-grown kids love it! I saw people kickin' around up by the road that I didn't even know live around here. We decided to try out the wood furnace again. It heats nicely except for a couple rooms at the far end of the house. Not sure why but 72 degrees of wood heat beats the heck out of 72 degrees from the heat pump. Can't explain why, it just feels different. But man, it goes through the wood! Five or six normal size splits will last about an hour. Suppose a chimney damper control may help? The damper on the unit has no adjustment, it's either WOT or closed.

Glad you got some snow. I just used my snow plow for the first time this year. We haven’t had much of a winter so far.

Glad you're enjoying it Sluggo , time to top cover your wood. The ability to modulate your damper will help a lot. Nice meeting you.

Possibly inadequate insulation being in the south?

Yes, a damper will help that.
Must be an old school unit...my Kuuma furnace will happily run all day (10-12 hours) on 5-6 splits...that's when its not super cold out (30 ish) the colder it gets the more we use (obviously!) But the most I have ever used in it in 24 hrs was around 150# of wood...that's 3 loads in 24 hrs and lows below 0, highs under 10*...heating the whole house to 72-74 ish

Thanks for all the comments. I'm new at this but knew that was WAY too much wood. Just thought I'd try it out. Seems to me that I inherited something that I would not have purchased had it not come with the house. Maybe with some modifications I can get it to where it's at least practical to use. Thanks again. I like the way that Kuuma furnace sounds.
