Well we are gonna get buried here in the next few weeks then. So far I've plowed the driveway twice but neither time was really necessary. The average annual snowfall for my area is around six feet and I don't think we've even had a foot of snow yet, total.
Not being a nay sayer but the planet goes through temperature swings. Now add in major changes to the ocean currents caused by under sea volcanoes which in turn due affect the jet streams = climate variances for different portions of the world and or local conditions at any given time. nothing stands still, change is continual.
Colorado is 108.18% of average currently. I'd be curious as to the 244 locations surveyed and see them on an overview map.
A clean environment is needed for future generations, world population is growing we are having an effect on mother earth. " only together can we make the world perpetual "
interesting that here in NM they claim a spring drop of 100%. So 0" fell in spring months during the 49 year period studied?
x2 Between talking with neighbors in the house we sold and seeing storms on the local news our previous home of 21 years has been walloped with more frequent storms and much higher totals since 2014.
I’ve owned my current truck and plow for exactly 4 years today. I plow driveways so 6” or more is around when I get business. I put the plow on the truck 3 times in those 4 years- all of em in 2018
We're lacking in snowfall this Winter as well. Biggest was in November at 5-6". I dont mind cold, but snow not so much.
Whatever we lost here was gained somewhere else. I saw something where the northern hemisphere, namely the Arctic, warmed 1 degree... meanwhile the southern hemisphere, namely Antarctic, cooled 1 deg...for a global difference of...0
Supposed to get up to three feet at my house Friday/Saturday. but I do notice that some years are relatively dry here - while years like this year, I’m plowing the driveway at least once a week.
This year has been likened to 2003. March dump, had 87" in 3-days. I hope not, that was a work out. Looking at 12"-24" here by Sat.
Forecast for here is rain. But all yooz with toys for snow I hope get all you want. All I've got any more is a pair of unused snow shoes.
I have definitely seen a decline in snow here. anymore seems like we get more rain in winter than anything. I sure hope it changes.
Surely is a decline. I shoved a couple inches of snow this morning and it is only the second time for us to move any snow. Still, it won't hurt my feelings if we don't get any more. I'm already looking forward to spring.
flurries later today thru Sat then 4-6" of wet stuff Sun. and naturally temps dropping from around 32 to 12f on Sun- More ............ ice. Bad part is 15hp 36" blower is here in shop and truck is at repair shop ( again). Guess I will have slip slide the trailer down with the roller skate on Sat to get it home for use on Sun. My old 5hp 2 stage 24" snapper blower isn't up to that stuff- it is of mid 70's vintage and my 8hp Simplicity has a case of ethanol death- about the same vintage. Never fails.
