There is room for them on our deck. There's already an 8ft rack there, which is plenty. I expect to use them to replace some racks I have that currently are just simple saplings with a t-bar at one end and cribbing at the other.
-Sassafras, some cherry and oak- ....Sung to the tune of... -parsley sage, rosemary and thyme- I did a little industrial area roadside cleanup on the way home from work. Again this is typical of my small winter scrounges of dry zombie wood that keep my coffers of stored seasoned wood lasting through winter. This particular collection was from straight and narrow dead sapling trees in the 12' to 16' length range. Most were still standing and needed a little pushing to topple them. Then I bucked em up on the spot into convenient stove wood sized lengths. Burning some right now on the backs of the last of my willow score from the other day. Life is good
Lots of fun today, helping Mwalsh9152 get an oak trunk. It was up a steep hill, so we rolled the rounds to the bottom, like bowling. Then we quartered them, and loaded up. It was a great workout.
Beautiful straight oak trunk with very little sap wood guys! Looks like it was heavy stuff, even after being quartered. Does Mwalsh9152 keep his rear window very clean or is it just missing?
I commented to Molly that it had almost no sap wood. It was definitely pretty heavy! All we took was the trunk, almost perfectly straight. I still need to go back and pick at the limbs, then maybe I'll scout around and see if theres anything else with easy access. The window was down in the pictures.
