So very grateful for the time to be able to get out and do what i luv best. And grateful to have a place like FHC to share these experiences with the people that have my common interests. It means a lot.

Thank You Brad! Nothing like splitting by hand. The feeling of accomplishment makes it all worth it. That being said.......I did sleep very well that night:thumbs:

Exactly! A place where others understand the twisted-ness in our heads that makes us enjoy such things.... My wife just looks at me with "that look" (most of you know what i mean), but she has slowly come to realize that i really do enjoy it, and that she probably just won't "get it".

Kinda like my thoughts of her liking horses.... :headbang:.....but i digress....

    Nice work by the way...

    Nice work Micha.

On the hand splitting, yes, it can be great. I miss it but my body now requires hydraulics. Still, I say split by hand as long as you can and as long as you enjoy it.

Honestly......I'm on the fence as far as species. I had originally thought it was Ash.....but i got into a dispute (friendly one) with my brother. He's not convinced that it is Ash because of the bark (what little there was). Now I'm second guessing myself. Whatever it is.......it burns great. Very hot.

Very nice. Looks like great weather for wood cutting. Looks like it split easy, if it did, probably ash, some of the bark resembles elm.
