Had this saw delivered to me today from Illinois, is rougher than what appeared in the picture I saw. It does run, 91 cc's of old school muscle. I have another in much letter condition I need to repair the recoil on. Rumor has it that only 8000 were produced. Notice the muffler mod in the bottom picture.
Looks like it has potential Gary. Cant go wrong picking up a rare one, if anything it can keep your other one going longer sometime in the distant future.
The little I know on these. Sold from 1982-1987 6 years. Seems like everyone in their brothers has one. 1 for sale down from me and Jeff. Surprised Jeff hasnt got it yet.
I'll go to my site and see if I can dig up a link I posted awhile back. It's been for sale off and on for about 6 months now. Right at the high side of price IMO if I remember right. $250 asking but looked great condition. Was another one, not as nice looking but stated good runner, it sold already. Thinking it was in the $100 range.
I saw it a while back, and looked like a fair buy.... but I'm just not grabbing saws like I used to. I will always have CAD, but am just a little burnt out... don't know how else to say it. Sometimes some of the garbage that comes along with this hobby kind of over shadows the good once in a while. Been shooting a lot, that's what my mind/ saw funds has been lately.
So true Jeff and thats why I say its just a freaking chainsaw. A tool we do work with. Heck if I could clear 20 or 30 more out and just leave 2-3 I need. I would be happier then
I got burnt out on them for a while myself. I wanted to build a dining room table from or or two pieces and ended up with 10 saws again. I'm down to 5 again for now and will probably stay that way.
