If you do decide you would consider used I will probably be listing my 562xp up for sale soon, and I'm local to you in New Hampshire. The saws been awesome and its in great shape but Im a Stihl guy and want to pick up a 462c to go with my 261c. Once I do I know the Husky 562xp will just sit, so I'll probably consider letting it go if you're interested.
I need to do a little research to see what they're selling for, but maybe $600 with bar + a few chains (I think I have 5 total)? It has a 100% brand new air filter on it right now that I just replaced and I also have a new spark plug to go with it. I can look back in my paperwork to see exactly when I bought it but I think its been just over 2 years now. I'll look later today and let you know exactly when I bought it. I got it from Windy Ridge Corp up in Tamworth.
My husky/shindaiwa/echo/redmax dealer sells a ton of the cs590 saws in the shindaiwa variation. He says they hold up really well and nobody is beating the value for that $$. He likes to push customers away from the 455 and into the cs590. He runs a 20% off sale in conjunction with shindaiwa/echo and then those saws get really cheap.
If the CS 590 weighs 17 pounds , it sure doesn’t feel like it . It’s definitely heavier than my 562 , but I would not have guessed it weigh as much as a 70+cc saw .
Powerhead only is 13 lbs on the 590. I ran James Miller s 590 and it is a great running saw . Did real well noodling a big red oak log. He did some modifications to it after I ran it and it really screams now.
I run a 590 and no complaints about the saw. Though at times I wish I had a 24" bar. The chain that comes with them suck, well at least mine did. For the money I think it's hard to beat. I really dont notice the weight of it. After warranty is up I hope to mod it.
The echo saws are a really good value compared to Husky and Stihl. They really are the honda civic of saw makers. Not sexy or the fastest/ lightest but very well built and reliable. I don't run 60cc class saws but the 590 is a lot of saw for the money. When I did have a Dolmar 6100 I really liked my buddy's 590/620 echo better.
The echo saws that I have ran are the 590 and 680. They are kinda like the McCulloch saws of comparable displacement, not huge chain speed but they really shine when the bar is buried. The 590 is sorta heavy, but with a 20 inch bar I thought the balance and handling was great.
Oh yeah, I thought they were a dolmar dealer. My only saw is a cs 680 I have had it about 10 years and have had 0 issues with it. It’s cut a ton of wood. I have been eying the Timberwolf. There’s one on Craigslist new in the box for 35o.
590 is a great firewood saw. Mines been living with a 24 for awhile now so I can leave the 32 on my 7910. Muffler mod and retune makes a big difference. Del Eaves ported my saw and it's a different animal now.
Sound logic. I didn’t realize the price gap between them was so great. Weight could become an issue towards the end of the day I suppose, Howe I’d it does live in your truck & gets stolen the pain won’t be as great with a $399.00 saw & some thief who’s looking for a popular name brand saw may overlook the echo.
So I looked up the PHO weight for the 590 cause 17lb sounded ridiculous. 13.3lb is what I found. Here is mine with a 24 and full tanks 18.78lb. I'm sure I could lose a couple ounces if I had cleaned it up real nice .
So for the weights and measures crowd when I measured a 590/620 and a dolmar 6100 they were nearly identical the 6100 actually weighed a little more but holds more fluids.
