    Burned my first Beech last weekend. Came from a scrounge 2 years ago.
    Totally impressed. Will seek it out where or when available.

    Probably one species I'll never have the pleasure of burning.

    I'm lucky I did get a couple pick up loads of shagbark and am enjoying it much! The bark has a very pleasant aroma.

    I burn a lot of beech. Takes some time to dry, but some nice long burns from this stuff! Enjoy

    SpeedShop64 , Try noodling the next piece with your bar oriented parallel to the "trunk" of the tree instead of across the trunk. Cutting with the grain will be much faster than down through the log.

    Beech certainly is a hard, nice burning wood.
