I browse CL on occasion looking for wood/chain saws etc.
Thought this one was interesting! Wonder what the moisture percentage is? Wonder what it'll burn like?

I have personally seen firewood come out of basements that I doubt if it could possibly get any drier! Stuff burned great and you could just about light a split with a only a match!

Then theres those damp moist basements...……..:picard:

Probably like the 100yr old oak beams I have.
I have to be really careful how I burn them.
Stacked wrong and too much air...
they will take off in a flash.

There was just under a cord of birch, oak and maple stacked in the barn here when I bought this house. The owner moved out in 2010 and only used the place a couple times a year after that, and only in the summer before I bought it. He guessed that wood was cut and stacked in the late 90s. He had pics of the barn with what I’d guess was 12 cord lined up.

I had to move the wood outside so I could have a concrete floor put in. I felt bad having to stack it outside for the first time in probably 20 years.

I wish I had a moisture meter. Let’s just say it burned well for me last season.

"Only" $125. Such a deal... Like being so old makes it very desirable.
