I love them too and cant go wrong for a buck a bag either. They didnt have cinnamon...i wasnt happy! The discount store is about 20 minutes from me and i seldom go that way.

oops, sorry for the confusion. No, sassafras wood can be. Heartwood is rot resistant even though the wood itself is soft. The candy would make for some SWEET decking!
The customer brought me the logs off his property he wanted 1" boards to make a table it sawed real easy on the mill I used a 10 degree blade and they came out real nice first time sawing sassfrass on the mill it was about 100 BDFT as far as inhaling with the mill you inhale a lot of dust even with the mask but this time of year the mask is a hassle cause it fogs up my glasses so at the end of the day even your teeth are dusty YUM JB
Sasafras is good exterior wood ,the Amish here use it to make buggy. I used sasafras to build my log splitter trailer,old timers say " light as poplar , strong as oak "

My last shopping trip to the farm supply store consisted of: candy 22 rounds Ice melt Gorilla Tape 10 lag bolts A jug of bar oil Bird seed Dog treats A pair of leather gloves 3 pairs of heavy duty socks How’s that for random?
We have also used them for fence posts many times. Not as good as locust but will still last a good length of time.
