Been under the weather with pneumonia since Christmas. A friend called yesterday asked if I felt like cutting some wood. He showed up at noon took me to lunch then back to the house for some cutting. We loaded up his pickup with three dead standing red oak and put three over by the barn for me to play with later. You can see a large 5’ white pine log on top of the load. He has startedwood carvings with the chainsaw. The picture is of his first try from a log I gave him last fall.
Sounds like a good friend right there! And thats a mighty good first try at carving! Doesnt look like his first to me...cant wait to see some once he gets some time under his belt!
Nice load. Nice carving. He did s good job. But when I looked at it I thought I saw a 2nd face. So I turned me phone upside down and I think there is another face there.
gboutdoors , yeah that illness has been running around a while, and it's pretty nasty. Glad you're better. It sure is great to get out and add to the stacks when you are burning from them. Your friend has some talent with carving and should keep on doing it. Now we need more pics of that wood trailer, unless there here somewhere on FHC and I've missed them.

It’s still in the box I just can’t stop using my Dad’s home made trailer from 35 years ago. All pressure treated left over from a deck job. Another use for Dennis’s milk crate Dad loved to use what he had around the house as you can see. Front sides and back are removable as he used hinges with pins that can be pulled out. I feel him there with me every time I am out in the woods using the trailer.
