Husqvarna 562 I bought new last March (I think) it’s always starts good, except once last summer it wouldn’t start. At a loss for what do do, I got a new plug a couple days later and it was fixed until this past Sunday. It started about like always from cold, probably six pulls. Left it on fast idle to warm up, longer than I usually do, while I put on chaps and ear plugs. Picked it up and touched the throttle to bring it back to idle and it died, never again to start that day. Got some new plugs this morning, put one in and fired right up. 2 plug failures in less than a year. Anyone else have this happen on a 562? Is it a common thing? I still love the saw & will always have a couple spare plugs in the chain box now
What brand of spark plug? NGK only for anything I work on and in 30 plus years only seen a few bad NGK plugs.
Could need some carb work and sounds like it's just flooding out. Next time it won't start, pull plug, wipe dry, with plug out hold saw upside down, ten quick pulls, replace plug and start.
I have noticed i have had alot of plug failures with the 10mm plugs compaired to the standard 14mm plugs. I always carry spare 10mm plugs with me in the woods.
I’ve been considering that, buuut not sure the dealer i bought it from could help. When I was talking to them about buying it I asked if they had the diagnostics software for it in case there was a problem. His answer was “well we will get it”. Don’t know if they have yet and they’re 70 miles away. I think maybe they been selling husky snowblowers and mowers for a little while but I think this was the first chainsaw they sold, and they had to order it. But I guess their small engine guy is the same guy that used to run his own shop for quite a fewYears in the same town. When I went to the other husky dealer in that town and asked about it he said “well we’ll just change the coil if it goes bad” I was unimpressed with them.
Looks a little rich. Should be a light tan. Not sure what mix your running but I have read some guys try and go less than 50:1 and have issues. I've been running 45:1 with no problems in my Stihl saws.
I picked up a toasted 550XP for literally almost nothing from a very po’d person a year ago or so. Being auto tune, I brought it to a shop that had just sent a tech to school. I guess they didn’t have the printer set up yet. This was the report, above. I didn’t watch him do it, but I think you might be able to pull the coil and the carb and send it for a check up. This saw ended up with a new p/c. I couldn’t get away from the off idle bog they suffered pre 2017, so I got a new AT-12 carb. Free turned into 240 bux. But it is one of my favorite saws.
NGK quality isn't what it once was. I've heard a few fellers having issues with them. I like the Denso plugs made right here in Michigan, but I have a friend who works there so I might be a little biased.
I've had good results with ngk over the decades. But... I've been buying denso's like you as of late. No issues...
Same here. Used NGK for years. Had them in all my ope. Then had one doa and its replacement didn't last long either. I asked around and a few others said they had similar issues. I have been very happy with the denso plugs since I switched.
