Redneck knows for sure when a break is needed and he also knows how it is best to take a break! He knows what is best to win in drawings too. Files are always needed! He does well in groups and even likes talking to Aussies! (That is leoht beside him.) He has split a ton of wood at our place during the GTG. He has more than one splitter too. And not only is he a great worker, we are proud to call him a friend and a brother. Thanks for all you've done Randy.
missed this thread somehow. Hats off to you sir for hoarding with crutches. I would be doing the same. Roofed with a broken foot years back. Have disc issues in my back which arose a year ago. Ive hoarded through them. Nothing comes between a hoarder and a wood score. First pic looks like maple, last pic im saying poplar? Get well soon and hoard on.
I admire your resolve, but I gotta say....this is why you get on the 3 year plan....so you don't have to cut wood with a busted <insert body part>. I'm guilty of not letting something heal and worked through a lot of stuff I shouldn't have over the years. Currently abusing an elbow with a bad case of tendinitis..
I'm with ''buzz'' looks like a maple, thin bark, not a lot of texture to it. around here, popular, or cotton wood is really heavy, bark. For the money, i'll say maple. Or, wait till spring, check out the leaf structure, that'll help a lot.
Well we are ahead on wood. We process wood for 5 places. 1. Cindy’s Parents fire pit about a cord a year. Has 4 cord. 3 year plan check + 2. My parents burn about 7 cord a year. Has 24 cord. 3 year plan check + 3. Daughter and Sil burn about 6 cord a year. Had 17 cord. Close to 3 year plan. 4. Son burns about 4 cord a year. Has 15 1/3 cord almost 4 year plan. 5. My house = No stove yet. Set for spring install. Est usage 6 cord. Have 10 cord css. And about 12 cord invarious stages of readiness. When you add it all up we need to process about 24 cord a year to stay ahead. That is a lot of scrounging. Got to get it when you can. Dennis Backwoods Savage and i were talking about being hurt and not getting much done. I got a wild hair up my azz and decided to pick up a load of wood while i could. To see if i could. Man feel beat up more from the comments here than the actual work. I mean no disrespect to anyone. But i got to do what i got to do. Randy
I hope I didn’t make you feel that way.. Dennis says your a great guy.. so I would say you are!! If your happy
I support the git ‘er done attitude that you display Randy- but then again, I’ve seen your work ethic firsthand. If my lower back weren’t as jacked up as it is, I’d be after the wood, too.
I saw a utube video last night of a guy who calls himself Redneck, with a robust white beard, cutting up some lumber with a green bandsaw mill, out of some straight logs from a load of firewood logs. Same Redneck?
I know where you're coming from. I've been gimping all last summer and just starting to get back into the swing of things. Take it easy, but not too easy...
