I would not be surprised of it had only been used 3 times. Unbelievable shape for being 41 yes old. I put a new plug in and cleaned the carb last fall and ran stabil through it to keep the gas fresh an dc it has been in my heated garage since. I looked up what these saws have been sold for recently....not w hat people are asking but what they have sold for. I honestly couldn't find one under $200.00 that wasn't near as nice as this one. I'm asking $150 but I'm open to trades as well. BUT NO JUNK. This is as very nice antique saw that was built to last. Call/text/email if interested or if you have any questions. Just great, buy a saw, some expensive stuff for a saw, a reel of chain (yikes....), and good saws you'd like to own are crawling out of the woodwork. Every time right? $150 is a little out of budget at the moment, they are indeed great saws, and they aren't hard to find but are they really worth $150+?
The seller wasn't looking very hard. In the last 90 days, not one has sold for over $200 on eBay unless you include shipping charges. Several, however, have sold in the 149.99-$199.99 range, most of them in rougher shape than this one. He'll be lucky to get his $150 from a local buyer, but someone somewhere would certainly pay that much.
There was a real nice one (would have been mint except for some missing paint on the rear handle) for sale in a mint original case that recently sold for $200 on eBay.
On last episode of life below zero the guymarried to the inuit girl had a saw like that but it was locked up
I think your estimate is right on the money. I would love to see more out of mine if I had to sell it, but reality is 80-100 bucks is what it would sell for.
