31f here now. It snowed about 2" overnight. More snow tomorrow, followed by cold, followed by another snowfall on Friday, then cold again, etc. etc.

This reminds me of last winter. No significant snow or cold early, then we got a lot of cold and snow well into April.

25 out 76 in, just reloaded with beech. We got a dusting of freezing rain, sleet, snow late yesterday, just enough for everything to be coated this morning. Snow storms in the pipeline for Thursday and Sunday.

Been pretty mild here lately, especially for the middle of January. Supposed to be mid 50's today and tomorrow. Boiler hasn't been eating much wood lately...only about 5-6 splits per 24 hours.

We got a dusting of just snow yesterday, enough to make things white again.

Looks like we got about 4 inches of snow last night. Time to get out the snow blower.

Just finished splitting a little bit of wood for a friend. He wants to do some smoking but needed small stuff for that. I had not known but he had never seen a wood splitter work. He saw one this fall when the loggers left one near where he was hunting (he hunts across the road from us). So quite naturally he was amazed right off the bat! First split he was like, "Wow!" with a big smile on his face. That is always nice to see. He has always been amazed at all the wood on our place. He got to witness me cutting some wood this fall when he asked if I'd move some of the tops the loggers left right by one of his stands. I had to do a little cutting then moved the rest with the tractor. He was amazed at all of this (he is a city boy from Flint).

25 and 77, we got about 3” of snow overnight with another 3-6 coming tonight into tomorrow morning, and number 3 on Saturday night into Sunday. There’s some below zero mornings mixed in and into next week so I’d say old man winter woke up from his January nap.

35° here, getting up to 50° today with sun. I'm back to poplar and maple in the stove. Kinda looking forward to burning some oak next week.
    But I'll enjoy today outside!

2" yesterday (found it in the morning) that was relocated as soon as the plow went by.

Sitting at 10f right now. Not supposed to get much warmer and will probably end up below zero overnight.

Cold and snow on the way here. Wind chills to -35f. Snow moving in today with close to 6" by evening.

Then, after that, they say "significant amounts" of snow to follow and colder temps!

Might as well wait to head out to the cottage to snowblow until its all over.

-22c/-7.5f right now. For days now weve been highs of -20c/-4f and lows of -24c/-11f so very little fluctuations. No where near record temps for us but the wind has been brutal! We sure have been getting our shoveling exercise in lately with all the snow weve been getting as well. Doug fir keeping the house warm.

Thanks John. Just like neighbors helping neighbors. This guy also comes to me to help him track any deer he has shot since that time I found a buck for him after he gave up on it. He also likes my help in getting the deer out to his truck and loading it. Tis okay, he is a nice guy.

Looks like next week we get to reality in the weather end. Now I hope it doesn't last too long.
