I saw this locally online. I've contacted them to see if it's available. It probably is, based on location. I'm trying to figure out what it is from the picture. Thinking maybe white oak, hopefully? What do you think? Screenshot_20200111-103010~2.png

Here's a pic of white oak Horkn. First pic is the log and second is limb wood. Looks pretty close. 20200102_101404.jpg 20200102_123539.jpg I can't quite tell from your pic when I try to enlarge it. Gets blurry.

That's what I know. Plus I know the son of the owner of the business.

It also looks clean, and straight.

The only soft maple we have around here in town is silver maple.

The local deciduous trees that could be this tree around here that get that size are silver, and sugar maple, ash, oak, some elm, and uhhh, maybe something else.

Yeah, that's why I think it looks like white oak to me. The pic just gets blurry.

the closest one kinda looks like silver maple. the one in the middle looks like it could be hackberry. and the ugly in the back looks a lot like silver maple. pic is blurry though. I'd definitely get it either way.

I should be able to get it. Just have to wait out the snow storm we've got going on now.

Looks like it could be Red Maple or maybe Sugar. I like Red Maple..burns a bit better than Silver. As we know, Sugar is great. :yes:I'm leaning Red, though.

Roll a handful of those chips between your hands and take a big whiff, and she'll give up the secret. :)

The darkening almost purple color on the butt end of the log has me thinking Maple. It's so hard to tell with the poor pic quality. Whatever, it is good wood.

Bark looks an awful lot like a mature silver maple. Looks like a clean straight trunk though.
