    IMG_0141.JPG Into the big doug fir, 2-3 years old, this stuff burns differently. Need higher stat settings but get the same burn time. Does anyone else notice that with the huge splits?

    Tube stove, but I cant leave the air turned down quite as much with fir as I do with other woods. The normal air setting I use with alder, maple, or birch results in dead secondaries and a lot of smoke when burning fir.
