A few weeks ago, I noticed a downed limbs at my folks house, at the edge of the garden area. Big red oak branch, forked, involving other small saplings, under tension Branches we're well above my head. I cleared out around where I was cutting. I then gave some thought about how the whole thing might roll as I worked around it. Everything went just fine. Tossing pieces into a pile as I cut and cleared Got most of the branches loaded up. Left these rounds and split-out pieces behind. I'll get them when the ground firms back up Back home. Unloaded to my temp work area. I thought I took a pic of my minivan loaded up. No sign of it. I have well.
Yeah.. there's a bit of slope. Not too bad. I used my older husky40. Nice saw for what I was doing. Warm restarted every time. Fun little cut. I've taken and posted some many pics of my loaded minivan. I must have just imagined I took a new one. Mine all start to look alike. There's more to cut in those woods. I'm sure there'll be more picture potential.
You simply need to get to a GTG again. I know of one that is not too far from you and there are always log tongs there.
With snow in the overnight forecast, I went back to my folks today to bring back what I left there at No van pics from the first trip, so - Unloaded in my temp staging area. Nice to get stuff already split!
A wise move! You get the snow this time, although with high temps coming, it won't stick around. I like your staging area!
Yeah. We're snow free. 1-3 inches coming tonight. Gone by weekend. When I back my van to the top of the driveway, there's that spot by the stone wall. Not big, which is good. I try to not let anything sray there too long. I'm figuring 7-10 days of heat from that branch I cleaned up. In 3 years., that is. I just split the rounds and put them on a just-emptied rack.
Nice! It all adds up. Its great when mother nature lends her helping hand in our splitting efforts. Is there a way to talk her into splitting the rest?
I thought that wall looked familiar. I love finding those branches! Nice grab. I look at it like you do. This branch is worth 7 days That round is a cold night. This blow down will be a February. And it was a perfect day to get outside. I’m jealous.
Nice morning here after a light dusting of snow. Here's the stuff I split yesterday with frosting I then moved what was left to the cutting area And a view of the woodyard with a tiny bit of snow
The wall hasn't changed, but that work area has. Big difference with those three massive trunks gone.
