I have a 271 20” that works great, and a huge homelite 100cc with a 32” bar. Wanted something between and able to have the wife run the 271.
Ended up with a ms311, 25” bar. I have two 20” bars, so could always use those too. Happy with the purchase. Was still husky curious, but wasn’t super impressed with one I tried on Sunday. Also tried an used 441 that ripped, but had a few issues and likely needed some $maintenance.

Port the 311 and it will feel like that 440...... just saying:dex: I oddly like the 311 I modified since it is light and now feels a little more powerful. It is not like my big saws, but is far less tiring on 12 inch minus cuts.

Funny you should say that... I was looking into that but didn’t see much info.

YouTube and some forums have info. I know other guys on here can offer far more insight than I. Start with a simple muffler mod, which can be done with simple power tools. I defer to experts for the major mods. Good luck and most importantly enjoy. The 311 is a solid saw.
