Got out in the mud yesterday and cut and split some hard maple. It was pretty stringy and didnt split to great but got it done. Dad helped out and did most of the cutting.

Nice work. I like sugar maple, even when it splits tough. It been to muddy to get the winch out here. How about you? Have you winched any wood this winter?

Yeah these two logs in the below pics are headed to the sawmill, pictures above are the tops from this tree and another one. First one is about 18" dia, second is 22" dia. I circled the log and my self releasing snatch block in the second picture as these are stills from my go pro, which makes everything look 100 miles away. You can see the tracks in the leaves where the logs were winched out in the second pic.

I usually use the grapple to get the logs out of the woods so i dont skid them out and mess up my trails, but it was so muddy the fronts would have buried themselves, so i just skidded them out. Split brakes were my friend when trying to turn uphill lol!

Its been too muddy here also, but sometimes you just have to get it done.

Wgg BF at model tractor is that? I have a 3038e with the remote hydraulic add on, but Deere told me not to force one lever open for a splitter. Just curious.

Its a 3039R. I dont use the tractor hydraulics, it has a PTO pump. You would need power beyond if you wanted to run a logsplitter.
