I was talking with the wife’s grandpa over Christmas about chainsaws and cutting firewood. They live in northern Minnesota and have roughly 120 acres of woods. He is a super nice guy and is still very active for his age.

Anyways after Christmas was done and we were getting ready for the 5 hour drive back home. He said he wanted to give me something, he walked out with a chainsaw case and this saw along with four chains.

I definitely wasn’t expecting it, the best part was the huge smile on his face.

Other than the brake, are there any other parts missing?

    Nice gift.

My bad, I had it taken apart to clean it up. Everything’s there and in working order, I just haven’t put it back together yet.

He probably got more pleasure in giving the gift than you got in receiving it. That said I would consider going up for an extended weekend maybe when he likes to cut in the summer?? Then just giving them a hand with that saw on the 120 acres. Those memories will mean a lot in a few years

Fantastic. No doubt Grandfather thought very well of you for marrying his granddaughter.

And for sure now you need to pay him back somehow. A little work around the farm maybe? Find out something that he really likes and get it for him? Use your imagination. Then use the saw!
