Neighbors big old oak came down, took out a pole and ripped 2 other straight out of the ground! Took out my service and meter pan to boot! I got some good wood though so that’s a plus

Yep that does not look good. Getting the wood sure would be better in somewhat different circumstances.

I like my firewood delivered in a slightly less disruptive fashion.

Hope you get power back quickly.

Did it fall in a storm? Did you get to cut it up? Unfortunate way to score wood but we take it any way we can get it

Ouch! That must have made a noise, I don't care if anyone was there to hear it or not.

    Electrical fixed up yet?

Power is back on, had the generator going so no real loss, the tree came down in a windless sunny day, it’s been dead for several years but in the neighbors yard. Not sure what kind of oak, there are several species here, I was thinking white oak, the leaves a deceiving because that tree hasn’t had leaves in a few years so those leaves are from another tree, could have been worse!!

A number of years ago, the power company paid us a visit. There was a dual-leader maple on the front of the property. As each leader grew and got heavier, the crotch developed a crack down into the main trunk, about 12 feet up. They were concerned about the utility lines, across the street. So, they took down the tree, preemptively. Too bad that wasn't done in this case.

I’m not a very good tree species identifier, it was definitely oak, I can tell ya that much! Lol
