Just picked up a 034 super. Runs great, but might want to clean the deep grime from the plastic. Any products recommend for the job?

I've used this with good results Ron. Cheap at the dollar store. I usually scrape any crud off with a plastic putty knife and a toothbrush for the slots in the recoil. I spray this on and let it soak a minute or 2 and then wash off with water. Nice saw BTW.

Tried it yesterday...didn’t work so well. Really just thinking about running as is!! Aesthetics aren’t really as important as how it runs.

One area I have found working on other people saws or used ones I have bought that is overlooked is behind the chain brake mechanism cover. Gets really gunked up in there.

For sure. Going to tear this one down and give it a thorough cleaning. I’m happy with it for the price.

Ron 1 other thing I have used to cut really nasty grime is starting fluid. Followed up by air. I only do it outside on really nasty saws. Doesn't hurt the plastics or metal.

Any kind of degreaser/detergent that won't degloss the plastic surface should work. Otherwise you're going to spend some time polishing out that damage which is pretty much the same that happens with the surface aging . Polishing can be time consuming ( I'm not talking a thin coating of wax-like-furniture polish) especially if you are trying to remove scratches and gouges and heavily oxidized surface patina.

A little steam cleaner like you might have for sanitizing or removing wallpaper with the little small nozzle/brush attachment often works well too. Can use for bug and tar blobs on your car too instead of solvents.

I use this at full strength to clean just about everything I own... Don't do much saw cleaning, but the one or two times a year that i do, it works great.
