We get that on Monday. I'd best be making the most of this weekend! 40° out already, burning short splits of mixed maple, trying to get rid of them. I sure made some funky-shaped firewood two years ago. Didn't measure anything.
The ice finally melted about noon yesterday, but it’s 29 and all icy again this morning for a few hours again. Into the 40’s this afternoon though. Still burning coals and 77 inside. It’ll be a light load later this morning. Interesting weather pattern setting up for the next week. Snow and ice Monday and Tuesday then back up to 40 again. January appears to be starting out mild in the northeast. We’ll see how long it lasts. Didn’t you mention a cold snap coming second week of January Midwinter? We’ll enjoy the mild stretch regardless.
At the end of my 10-day temps go down a notch, to highs in the 30's and teens overnight. It will be January after all.
Still forecasting relatively warm for this time of year but soon it will also be very wet. Rain then snow then probably mud.
18 degrees here and snowing. 76 in the house. Burning Ponderosa pine and silver maple. Plans for today... Get a workout in. Plow the driveway. Snowboard down to the mailbox to get the mail and hike back. Sit on the couch and watch football with my son. I love days like today.
Craping rain here! Temps holding right around freezing (right?) and the rain is starting to collect all over the roads!
25 and 76 here, headed for upper 30’s today. We got past 40 yesterday woohoo! The weather guys can’t quite make up their mind about the approaching back to back storms, but we’re getting something. Time will tell what, I’m just hoping for minimal ice. It should all be over sometime Wednesday. At least the temperatures are pretty mild for January. That’s a big plus.
33* and drizzle here. Supposed to rain the next 2 days and stay mild for the rest of the week. More rain by the weekend. YUCK!! Am I the only one that doesnt like these mild temps? I know it saves on wood consumption but all I see is mud, mud and more mud. I'd rather deal with cold and frozen ground than mud.
Hovering the freezing mark. Big long duration snow storm expected to start early tomorrow lasting into new year's day.
I think we already reached our high for the day. 36f about 6am now 34f. Chance of drizzle/rain as well. Went to parents place in central Nebraska (Greeley) yesterday and about 10 degrees cooler there with good chance for snow today.
52 here foggy. Lake 3 blocks away opened back up. Lots of unhappy fisherman/women. 10 day shows colder weather. I hope it does. I'm itching to try my new tent style shanty.
Rain this morning but looks like it is done now. Flood watches all over. More rain in the forecast; wet for several days. Sounds like we might have a few cold days next week but they are saying it should be short lived then back at least into the 30's and maybe low 40's.
Its been kinda warm here on top of the hill....upper 30s lower 40s at night.....almost 60 yesterday for a high...go figure! Best season wood i have right now is ash n hickory mixed....so guess what....thats goin into the burn box... Weather guessers are predicting a cold Jan. n Feb. Guess well see....ding dongs said that about our December......WRONG!
