The big 12 inch wedge usually gets the job done! If you ever see one that big for sale, buy it. Fortunately we were splitting ash, so with the right tools, we made fast work of it. How are you feeling this morning, Mwalsh9152?

Not too bad, I'm actually about to go soak in the hot tub in a second though. You,

Slept 10 hours last night and kept up with the ibuprofen. I feel fine today. I'll probably make it out to Dracut New year's day or either of the next two days, to pick up some of that skinny stuff. Assuming it's not covered with ice. If I do make it out, and you're around, I could help unload the Bronco.

I wish I could sleep 10 hours without being deathly ill. I got less than 6, up at 4:45. Depending on how successful I am finding 1" stove gasket this morning, I may start offloading today. Its going to be warm and rainy for the next week, so it would be better to back into the yard and dump near the boat. Less distance to the splitter.

I bought gasket for my Jotul at the Stove Shoppe in Windham, but they're closed Sunday.

I should have just bought ALL the gaskets when I was at Woodstock Soapstone last month, but that would have been the smart thing to do.

County store in Milford has a great selection of stove gasket. It’s probly a bit of a ride for you but I’m sure they will have what you need. They have a great selection and good staff, things are a bit expensive tho.

Thanks, that's about a 2.5 hour round trip though. If I cant find them this morning, I'll just order them from Woodstock.

I use an old maul head to split a round wider, if needed. I've used it to free up other wedges, to move them to take a different bite, if needed.

The backyard was much firmer this morning than the last time I was out there earlier this week, so I took the opportunity to dump the load right next to the splitter. It wasnt as bad as I expected it to be.
