So, hopefully, you watched the video before reading this followup post.

I don't speak German but I figured out what it was just by watching. It's a training device to teach woodcutters how to cut stems under tension. Very cool!

I watched it before seeing your next post and figured out about halfway through that indeed it was a training device. Before that point though I was wondering, why on earth are they making things harder for themselves?

I was unsure of the purpose of the machine.
    o_O:loco:

But it does make sense as a training device.

I had the sound off. While I speak German, the only thing that made sense was that it was a tension training machine.

Took me a minute, but I figured it out. Having a tough time getting past the Lederhosen safety pants though.

Took me a minute to figure out what the heck was going on , first impression was it makes about as much sense as Backwoods Savage and his vertical splitting with a milk crate waffle butt !

Agree with others on training. If not that, it’s the German way of spending a lot of time cutting wood! I might need one if these when the wife is angry!!!!

I thought it was a horrible alternative to splitting wood when I was watching it, that the purpose of the tension was to cause the log length split:loco:  I’m glad it’s for training. I couldn’t stop thinking about how dangerous and unproductive it was when I thought it was a splitting device:jaw:

Well, "spannung" in German means " force". So " force simulator".
