Ya need to see the guy over in Shippensburg if you like the Stihl chains. Buy 2 get 1 free. It's one of Rodneys' hangouts.

    Biglerville Stihl is the same way(buy 2 get 1). Still, $50-60 for 3. :(
Chainsaws, yes. No loyalty to chains (except I'm anti chi-knee).
Stihl chain holds an edge longer than any others I've used but... it's expensive and harder on files.

I dont even know, but does Husky make/sell their own chain? I prefer Stihl RS and Oregon myself.
Years back...early-mid 1990's the shop i dealt with sold Carlton chain from a roll and would cut off what you needed. Later on i switched to Oregon.

Yes, now they do and I hear great things. I just haven't spent full retail on chain in forever. My local Stihl and Husky shops don't budge from 100% retail. Hard to support when I can find loops of new chain for $10. I bought a loop of the new Oregon EXL for my long bar. It's a bit harder metal than the LGX so the edge lasts a little longer. So far I really like it.

i agree. They are in business to make money. Ill bargain hunt myself for chain/parts etc. I got a 28" Stihl RS chain for Christmas so anything i dont hafta buy is gooder! Still have the one original chain from it that will be two years old in a couple months. Still maybe 1/3 meat left on the teeth. Saw came with no bar but two good chains when i bought the 460 (77cc) powerhead February of 2018. Bought 20 & 28" bars for it.

Do tell! I've got one in the great state of Michigan too, a 365 special. With all the shipping horror stories, I'm in no rush to have it sent!
