is this a trick question ?

You mean like if you even think of building a fire with it your wife will leave you, your kids will disown you and your dog will pee in your shoes ?

Yes, and like bert the turtle stated, generally if a tree produces fruit, it is usually good burning wood. But I would not recommend anyone going to cut down the neighbor's fruit trees...

Someone told me years ago, any tree that produces fruit or nuts is good for smoking.

Disclaimer.... I suppose there are the exceptions to this rule also. :handshake:

I had saved some pieces of my dad’s peach tree he had growing for probably 20 years until he dug it up and threw it out. I salvaged it and it wasn’t much more than the size of a branch about two fingers across in width, barely 3 feet high. Neighbor of my parents have a much bigger one in diameter but I guess my dad’s just never really grew well in the spot. It produced some large fruits recent summers but I guess he got tired of it suffering.

This one was used in my bbq towards the end of the Summer, I cut the best parts of the trunk up into smaller pieces for the grill for what it’s worth. I couldn’t let it go to waste. I use apple, plum and cherry on a regular basis for the bbq. So peach is more so the treat. I wouldn’t burn it in a regular burner for heat unless the supply was considered ample. Now you got me thinking how to process it all so some wood indeed gets sliced more manageably. The plum I have is so twisty that it gets less safe to cut with a chop saw in chunks the shorter it gets.
