Just got a triaxle load of oak and hickory dropped off at my brother inlaws house for $400. He and I both got a load and at that price I was thinking of a second one. It was a last minute thing, there was a guy logging across the road from his house and I was over there talking to him and mentioned how I would love a load like that. He said he usually charges $500-$550 depending on how far he has to go but since it was across the street he would do $400. What do you think was that a fair price?
Around here a load that size is around $700 to $800 which is why I don't buy any lol... Nice find cert!
Thats awesome. I have thought about ordering a triaxle load like that just to get way ahead. Have fun and be safe bucking all that up.
Very fair. It don't think you could beat that price unless you live in the crowded burbs and have tree guys willing to give it away. A logger certainly isn't going to be doing it for free.
Congrats, I think that is a great price. I am checking on a Tri-axle load myself , guy gave me about that same price for all hard wood. Waiting on him to get back to me. I would grab another liad if I were you.
Well from the sounds of it we did ok then. The middle pic is both loads and the other two pics are my load. The last time my BIL got a triaxle load it was between 7-8 cords after we cut, split, and stacked it. This guy filled the truck clear full (almost overloaded) since he was literally driving across the street so I figure between the two loads there is roughly 16 cords. When I figure my time to fell 4 cords and drag it out of the woods I am pretty happy with $200 a year in heating costs plus this will get me to about 7 years ahead or more. I actually won't even start on cutting this stuff until late fall or winter since I really don't need it right now. I hate cutting in the heat and would much prefer to do it in cool weather. I am guessing my 357XP is gonna have a blast on this stuff. I need to round up a few more chains for it now. So anyone want to bring over a few saws and have some fun
So, say 7 cord for $400! Wow. $400/7 = $57 a cord? W.T.F.? That is an unbelievable price. Did I do something wrong there?
