Oh. LOFL. I don't know now. I wasn't sure when I found the wire, so I went in to the camp and checked to see if the breaker was tripped. Nope. But for some reason I turned it off. I'll be alright. So now I can't tell. I can usually look right through the woods from my house and when it is really dark and see it on.

 

keep a Ac Voltage Detector pen with you when working with wire. you will know right off if the wire is live.

Yes. Good idea. One of my brothers, who I helped finish a job a little bit ago, has one of those. Very handy.

 

How does the rake hook to the backhoe?

I didn't realize Bobcat made anything like that. I looked it up on Ritchie Specs, ~3200lbs lift on front bucket! Not bad! I'm surprised it only has a 46hp engine though.

Does the bucket swap with other skid steer attachments? Turns with a steering wheel or joystick?

Bobcat stopped making them in 05-06. I think Ingersoll Rand may still make them. One company bought the other out. Can't remember which one.

My B300 has Bobcat's quick attach system so it takes all kinds of attachments. I have pallet forks and a home made snow plow for it. It is a very handy machine. I bought it used of course, because something like that would cost you an arm and a leg new.

Turns with a steering wheel. Has all wheel drive and all wheel steer.

 

The 110 i used was a pain. Instead of the seat spinning it would flip over. It made swapping over from how to bucket suck.

Jcb makes a skid steer hoe. Tracked or with tires. 1CX is the model.
It was not quick-tach either, not sure if all were?
Also it had SAE controls which really screw with me. ISO is much easier.

This is true. I'm not sure if Ingersall Rand still makes the sister to these Bobcats or not. They use to. This is a BL370. Same thing.

But I don't think they make them anymore. Not sure though.



Over the years I have considered a Kubota B21, then they started making the B26. The B26 looks like nice machines. And I hear the B21 and B26 are tough little buggers. But when we bought the property that changed everything. If I was to buy one of Kubota's construction backhoes now I would need an L39 or L45 at least, or bigger. Lots of stumps, rocks, landscaping and ditching (for drainage on the property) to do in the coming years. I knew I had to have something bigger and I had to find something that wouldn't break the bank. I did a lot of looking around and stumbled on a Bobcat B200 first I guess. Then researched and found they made a 250 and bigger one of the 300. Then started looking for one. Took a while but I found this one on craigslist one day after I had been continually looking for many weeks. This one turned up on craigslist and I found it one day after it had been posted. It had low hours(600), heated cab, and heavy bucket and forks for the front. Just what I was looking for.

The thing about a mini excavator, which I have used several of, is they can do one thing. Dig. They have a blade for rough leveling. But that's it. I need something that can do many things. And one of these can do many things. I hope to add a grapple for the front some day. And a hydraulic thumb for the hoe would be nice as well. Another great thing about this machine I found. The hydraulics are there already. Factory installed front and back.

 

I agree. These Bobcats have a spinning seat. It is nice. Not a lot of room, but sufficient.

 

Looks like a great machine. I use my Bobcat for moving
Logs. It works fine but its rough on the ground even if I'm careful.

 

That bobcat is really cool! It never ceases to amaze me how much effort it takes to get a stump out. Even a small one. Good job.

It is. I finished it it a couple of weeks ago. Just needs paint now.
