I bought an 011AVT at the G2G and just now had a chance to mess with it. It was pretty dirty and caked up and hadn't been touched for a few years. I was totally expecting it to be needing the carb rebuilt and all new fuel lines. Tonight I opened it up and cleaned all the sawdust and oil caked up in it. Was really surprised when I looked at the carb. Looked great and the fuel lines look brand new. Filled it up with gas and it fired right up! Might have woke the neighbors as it was a little late but oh well. I'm pumped! Got a good saw to climb with now!
Got plenty of poles out there left to trim, and my wife wants more cookies for center pieces. So I'll get out there, just need time to do it
Nice. My first Stihl was a 011. I seized it up years ago and threw it away and bought an 021. Wish I would have kept it.

Well I got to use the 011 today! Climbed and topped two black walnuts. Was a good time and what a rush being 25' up a tree and dropping the tops! Had to adjust the carb in the tree though, was bogging down and I had my helper get my screwdriver and a quick adjustment and I was back in business. First time I've had to do that, although it's probably not a good ideas I didn't want to climb back down to make a small adjustment then back up again.
What kind of gear are you climbing with Swags? I've been thinking about some basics to set lines and such.
I need to get a real saddle but what I have works and is safe just not as comfortable. What I have is a hunter safety system harness. It's designed as a fall restraint system but also has loops in the sides for carabiners on your lanyard. The lanyard I have is a basic system as well and is adjustable. I would like to upgrade my lanyard though and get one that is more easily one hand adjustable. It did a good job though as it is a full body harness and was more comfortable than what I thought it would be.
