Goodbye wallpaper. Well, most of it. Doing this as I can stand.

I wonder how Papadave really feels about wallpaper.

That window is going to be going too, it leads to the next room and is right where it would be good to have counters and cupboards.

Wallpaper's all right if you paint and prep the wall right so it peels right back off without taking the wallboard paper with it.
I've seen wallpaper used to cover up a sloppy, halfazzed drywall finish job. And several layers of wallpaper and paint. Like someone spent years undecided what they liked better.. Ugh.

Ugh the wallpaper nightmare! We used liquid softener and a sponge let it soak half hour and it came off pretty good. Not sure what the softener does exactly but it worked.

Wall paper:picard: Not fun. We had it all over our house when we bought it and what a total pain to get rid of. Somebody had painted over part of it too so you can guess how that went.

Yeah, luckily we only have three rooms with it-- and two of the rooms seem to be the wet and stick stuff, which will be easier to remove.

    I hate wallpaper.

I'm in the process of renovating a house we bought. Several of the rooms had wallpaper. I got pretty good at removing it. The trick is to soak it with soapy water and scrape with a plastic putty knife.

I was going to start a 'wallpaper remediation company' with a slogan, "We hate wallpaper as much as you do".
