Does your double wall pipe go the whole length of your chimney?
I have double wall into a clay lined chimney with an SS insert. Get worried when I see 600 stt.

I have double wall stove pipe through a thimble in the wall to an insulated ss liner in a masonry chimney. The liner/chimney is about 16 feet. I am finally getting to the point where I dont worry so much about those temps. It's my understanding that the nc30 likes to run hot. I could keep it under those temps if I wanted but I've found I end up with more charcoal than I would like by the end of the burn. Plus I'm heating from my basement so I gotta push it a little harder than if it was on the main floor.

Here's a pic of my pipe...

Thanks. Very similar to my set-up except I am doing 2 90s instead of the 45s and chimney 22'.

We are back from our adventure to the west west coast of the island. Christmas concert was great last night. 80 people in the choir and 30 kids in the children's choir. Audience gets to participate as well for a couple of songs. The place was packed.

Roads and weather good so it was an enjoyable trip.

Well 50 degrees to 20 and 2” of snow made roads conditions icy.. we are home safe.. Liz school is 22 miles down interstate. Not like out west, short easy trip for us. We are good brought girls to Olive Garden since we were “in town”

I can't get the party and music out of my mind, it was such a nice time, and I love the beat of all the songs though the I'm not used to the volume . Someone posted a video on facebook taken while we were packing up to leave, Everybody on the dance floor, couples, children being passed from one arms to another being danced around, mothers, daughters, sons and Mother in Laws dancing interchangably with the husbands and eachother. Incredible kindness to everyone be it friend, acquaintance, stranger or not. Actually just like here at FHC :) At one point one of the band's newborn was stealing the show, singing pretty loud (crying) between songs, I laughed so hard, he said "someone give her a microphone"

I took the week off so I wouldn't lose the vacation time. I was going to take the week after Christmas, but my wife reminded me of the post Christmas chaos, so I took this week instead. Going to the eye doctor this morning, then off to the Cadillac dealer to check out a car since I'll need it in two weeks with the new company.

I cant believe how much Caddys depreciate! 3 years old, 31,000 miles for 1/3 of the sticker price? I saw 2019's with 40k on them for about 50% of sticker.

I used to love Olive Garden. The last few times left me quite unimpressed.

“We’ll see you again on the next episode of this old house !” ,,, and the next ,,,,,and the next ,,,,,,and the next ,,,,, and the next !!!!!!!!!
Busy season is winding down and I’ve been digging into (repairs) this old house (parents) we moved into last spring.
Tackling air leaks and insulation first. Every time I open a wall up it turns into a nightmare. Luckily the entire house has drop ceilings . So I can open up the wall make a game plan ,get all materials lined up and it’s not intrusive to living quarters til the day it goes down.
Blecccch !! Not something I want to be doing at 50 and working tons of hours!
