Went to a gun auction and got a couple good buys. S&W .22 revolver in box, pristine and scored a shortened barrel S&W Victory for cheap. Then the bidders went stupid on a lot of stuff. We had several good laughs at least. Visited a Harbor Freight only 5 minutes away, plus same direction we needed to return home. 25% discount coupon to boot. wife went to Mexico yesterday and I went to a gun auction. My plane fare is sitting at home, increasing in value.
Awesome score Sourwood. I always bring along my S&W 617 when we go to the cabin. It has done a lot of work up there at the gavel pit, on pests, as well as out snaring/trapping, while potting a hare or grouse now and again. It is a great piece for introducing new shooters to handguns, as well as cheap to shoot a lot. I got my dark house set out on the local lake yesterday. Was able to drive out the quad on 6" of nice ice, no sagging or flooding. Now I need the water to clear up. I could only see the decoy down 3'. Some years it is clear right away, but other years it may take until well after new years.
Pure "crappy" weather the last 24 hours here. Day started out with pouring rain and 35 ALL DAY until about 3 p.m. when it turned to WET HEAVY snow coating everything. Then the wind decided to take a turn. Today I find that my wonderful pines dumped about a dozen major limbs over various parts of the lawn. We lost power for about 3 hours last night as well. Down to 21 here this a.m. and supposed to get to single digits by tonight. Ain't winter grand ???????....
wildwest has a birthday? Wait... what? Naw! Can it be? The young lady of FHC? Happy Birthday H! Hope you enjoy the cake!
Dang! That's not really winter though. Just some stupid transition phase that you have to clean up afterwards.....
Believe so, but I haven't been out there yet. Just gonna hook a chain on and use BODI to drag them to my old processing area in the back 40. I'll deal with them in the spring.
Dang it Jack Straw you should have lots of time on your hands because I heard that Carrie Farwood does most of the work around there now.
