Anyone compare the ms241 and husky 545? Quite a savings $wise with the husky around here.

smaller saws interest me right about now with the heat and bugs:)

What is the 545 selling for? The MS241 is a $550 saw. Husky's direct competitor to the 241 is the 543XP which sells for under $500 locally but lacks a couple key features (AutoTune being the biggie) IMO to be a real competitor to the 241.

The 545 is about .5 lb heavier (dry PHO, mfg spec) although I expect the real-world difference to be bit more due to the differences in bar and chain. The 545 is a bit more powerful as well at 3.35hp vs 2.95 hp. I sure wish I had a way to verify hp numbers as the 241 sure feels like it's got a bit more thump than the spec sheet says. But a chainsaw dyno is certainly not in my budget at the moment!

Both saws are AutoTune/Mtronic and should be a blast to run in small wood.

I owned a 545…. I will take my 241 over it any day lol!!! At the same time of owning the 545, I owned a 550xp. Only time I noticed the difference between the 2(545&550) saws was in smaller wood. As the wood got bigger, the 545 and 550 felt the same. Back to the 241, I preferred it over my 550xp. The 241 is just so fun to use.
