So I saw the hip doctor and he said both hips look like they were done a week ago. The oldest one has been in for 15 or 16 years now and that is the one that has been bothering.

He said the only thing is release of the IT band or cortisone but he does not like to use much cortisone. He did release the band several years ago (I think in 2010) so he gave me cortisone. Last evening was the first time I've been able to walk without pain for quite some time so it is working. Laying on it is still a problem. I sleep on my side and like to change from left to right but I can lay on it for only a very few minutes before the pain makes me roll back over. Still, I'm happy because no surgery and so long as I can walk without pain, all is well.

I'm glad to hear the cortisone is helping, being able to walk is pretty important. I hope you can get your sleep, too.

What a night. Two in a row. Tonight the the worst was a splitting headache that just did not seem to want to go away. Judy helped and probably lost lots of sleep so I'll let her sleep in this morning.

So now imagine: I have had this headache for about 5 hours when suddenly vertigo sets in. Then to add to it, leg cramps set in. The only way to get rid of a leg cramp is to stand on it. How do you do that with a splitting headach and vertigo? No doubt I'll look back at this and have to laugh but right now it is not funny.

Fortunately the headache is almost gone but sleep has gone too. I've been up for quite a while. It is 4:30 am now. I hope the rest of the day goes better.

Wow, that was a rough night for you. Vertigo is the worst, drives me crazy. I hope it doesn't come back for you again.

I'm sorry you are suffering Backwoods Savage . Are the headaches fall out from polio damage or your fall as a young man, or ?

Probably both but most likely mainly from the polio.
