Had a little longer lunch today so I decided to bring the new Stihl to work. Decided to go across to the Golf Course and cut up some oak that is in the pile. Only had 30 minutes and a 1/3 tank of gas but the new saw rifles through wood. It ain’t even fair.
Is that the saw you used cutting or is that the double used for modeling only? Now that's a lunch break I'd enjoy!! Nice work!!
That is some beautiful firewood. A nice lunch break indeed. Then you went back to work smelling like red oak and chain saw gas/oil.
I can't even take most of you guys anymore....lol...Asphlund scores all day, slabwood out the back slab, dump scores, and plenty of wood in your area to cut on your lunch break. I don't know if I am not working hard enough at hoarding, or there just isn't too many scores in my area. I live in Northeast Pennsylvania, so it is mostly wooded, but all private or state owned land, and whatever does come up. goes quick, or they want processed firewood prices for logs.
a quick search revealed a very ominous meaning for the term "mooseknuckle". Now I have a new found fear of anyone called "wood fairy"
Um, had to look that up. I’m guessing there’s another definition beyond the modern slang. Or should I say I’m hoping there’s another definition I’ll burn oil before I put one of those under my pillow

I think I'll stick to calling them uglies. perhaps hatchetdancer should come up with another term, seeing as how that one is taken?? how about yellow hammer? search urban dictionary on that one for a good laugh.
I’ve thought about this before and here’s my thought. Living in a very crowded suburban area, many people have no use for trees or wood. Almost no one burns so there’s just a lot less competition. Where you are from most people burn and there are more private land owners so wood is very highly sought after
very good point!!! also there is usually more trees in suburban areas. meaning more needing to be cut down. plus much less ppl burning. Also in rural areas when a tree needs to come down you can let it fall cause there is nothing around that it would hurt.
