amateur cutter There was lots of logs loaded and hauled away. The grappling unit was still there, but the loading pile was in another spot. going to wait for it to move before cutting any.
Good quality woods then, that's good news unless you're after firewood lol. Tops will be a plenty though.
Logs are beginning to appear at the second location, and there has been a layer of gravel put down on the old in used county road for hauling out. today I cut up about thirty inch diameter tree trunk, and will split it. Hauled off remaining trunk not with messing with. Free heat plus improvement to the pasture
Sunday, I worked on the large oak that fell in a lower clearing a few weeks ago. Pretty nice day for it. Got all the limbs cut away, and made splits of what I could. Cut all the rounds on the trunk to 70% and will roll it and finish it off. Still managed to haul a bed load or slits to the wood yard. I noticed a truck drive down the hill to where the log landing is. Giving rain forecast Monday and Tuesday, one of the loggers was driving machinery for several hours. I suspect he was dragging logs while the ground wasn’t too sloppy.
I can't begin to explain how they can market a unit like that at that price. I hear volume, but that is beyond my rationalization.
Just the fact that you can move wood that huge is really something. I can't stay standing but for a few minutes and can't lug anything than isn't in a bag with handles. Wasn't always that way, but that is where I have been for the past few years. Took a fall that was life changing. Do some fun things now while you are able, esp. early on in your retirement.
Hi, Nice to see you back here, or maybe I have been on the wrong threads. In any chase, it is nice to know you are still with us.
