There are walk-in medical clinics that serve the public that knows they don't need to go to the hospital in just about all communities in the United States. . Many are staffed by excellent physicians.
My primary care doctor can often have a 3 day waiting list. F that.
I've paid cash when I was between jobs and didn't have insurance. They were inexpensive.
Once was for a rash that had a comical cause and a equally comical and cheap solution.

Yes, I have heard about Turmeric for inflammation but not Ginger root; I drink ginger tea for stomach. My side started cramping on me last night; got little sleep. I took magnesium and potassium this morning; might be low on both. The cramping has eased off so I am going to see if I can get out today to run errands. I need to see about picking up some turmeric tablets; my sister takes it for her joints.

What I have read is that when you first hurt a muscle is to apply ice to reduce the inflammation and then later apply heat to help increase blood flow to the area to help promote healing.

There is a clinic; I think it offers free and reduce pay as well as takes insurance, that opened last year. They do require you to register as a patient. I called them a few times with no answer; I wanted to know what paperwork I might need to bring. I was planning on stopping by the clinic when I can and just get the paperwork to fill out. I was registered at a free clinic to the south of me but the Physician Assistance that operated the place was horrible, rude etc; and she never examined me. I went there due to a sore throat on one side only and I was concerned about cancer but she never looked in my throat or ears. I did get blood work done; and got nerve damage in my left arm as a result, that showed the general stuff being OK. The new clinic has actual doctors on staff and not just a PA. They are taking new patients so I hope to get signed up there.

Ibuprofen is bad on the kidneys though. Try the Salonpas patches, they really help. Hope you feel better soon. I pulled a major back muscle during the summer. Took awhile to heal.

tinea versicolor on the chest area - kinda ruined my tan a little bit. Rash is probably the wrong descriptor.

and yeah, NSAIDS ( like ibuprofen) can stress one's kidneys.
One shouldn't really take anything considered a medicine "daily" without a doctor's supervision.

I took it as an auto-correct for "many fold" as in tumeric and ginger are many fold better than ibuprofen

    I'd say 95%

I was shocked when my doc said I should take a couple ibuprofen every day. I told her I'll do that when I'm expecting to do physical work. But not for days when I'm not doing anything

I put in a hard days work yesterday with help from my sister. No real pain but there is a muscle in my upper back that wants to cramp on me when I try to sleep; painful. I was on the sofa sleeping in a sitting position again last night. It has done this for the last three nights; or has it been four? I feel awful today but think it is just lack of sleep.

Looking for advice. I haven't had a good night's sleep in days and I am so tired. When I try to go to bed I will doze off and then be woken with cramping in my side; the pain is horrible when a muscle cramps as you may know. I have to sleep upright on the sofa and I can't really sleep in that position. I don't think the muscle is going to heal if it keeps cramping. Tonight I don't think I will even try sleeping horizontally and just sleep upright. Any suggestions here will be welcomed with big hugs as I am so tired. I can't take naps during the day; I have tried so many times.

Sounds like Flexaril (cyclobenzaprine) might help you. Or a good chiropractor.

Everyone is different so I can only speak for myself, sometimes when my legs get bad cramps a long hot bath with Epsom salts seems to relax everything. I stay in for quite a while & that usually helps me. I have compassion for you & your situation our bodies need rest but our brains need sleep. Perhaps a chiropractor like Midwinter suggested. Do as much research beforehand on which ones are best in your area if your able, you don’t want to wind up with one who aggravated your current condition. I pray you get some sleep & relieve for your situation. Nights can be so long when your hurting & can’t rest, then you spend the whole next day in a sort of fog wondering if you’ll sleep the following night.

Go everywhere and anywhere but a doctor or clinic for medical and care advice.

The cure is Selsun Blue dandruff shampoo. Selenium sulfide specifically.
Everyone has tinea ( a yeast) on their skin if their skin is healthy. iirc they consume the breaking down fermentable sugars in the aging skin . In certain circumstances ( most commonly the warm sweaty days of Summer) they can overmultiply. (yeast is just a single cell fungus ) .Sort of the same thing that is going on with bread with the yeast eating the sugars and their waste product being mostly carbon dioxide making the dough rise. Nice in bread, not so pretty for your skin if there are too many of them. A few is good, a few too many, not so much. It doesn't hurt you it just doesn't look nice.

My favorite answer is; " I knew a girl like that, once." Although I didn't, it's still funny in the right context. :smoke:
