The power Co. here did a better job lately. All last summer they were clearing on the ROW. Got some wood from it & talked to the guys. They said some land owners were upset , called his boss. Do you want power in the winter . One guy said "each tree they cut was worth $1000" , his boss said he'd send the borough tax appraiser out & re-calculate his property value & new tax rate, That shut him up Very few power outages in the past few years I think here they are doing a better job with the ROW management
Its a little better around here after the last couple bad storms and big 100,000+ people out outages. Still not as good as some states I've seen though.
I'm not sure what route the power goes to get to my house but for a while any time it got windy I'd loose power. Might be a few hours or several days. Sometimes it would JUST be my neighborhood too. Some of my neighbors had pipes freeze one year after 4 days with no power and -10* temps along with 60-70mph wind. The big PITA is no power means no water. Fairly common to have community wells in subdivisions and they are not required to have backup power.
