Leave her hanging, wondering if you saw it or not. A guilty conscience will have more impact than a snarky rebuke. Don't stoop to her level.
The old hairy eyeball is OK though.

Yeah...I'm pretty sure I will be ignoring it. She has been critical of me for most my adult life and I have learned not to put any value in her words. It's made staying close to her very difficult.

It's odd behavior now since over the last few years she has made more of an attempt to be civil to not just me but a few others in the family. This is something she would do more of in the past.

    Instead....I will burn wood! :)

    schlot holy crap! WTH?

Resisting the urge to reply would probably be a good idea.

Probably back off the family stuff until she asks (if she will) why? Then tell her how shocked you were to receive that text and let her go from there?

    Sorry brother!

    Thanks.

I am actually more surprised than anything. I use to confront her years ago about stuff like this, until I figured I was just wasting my energy because she wasn't changing.

I figured I can't change her...I can only change my reaction to her.

Did you get a lot of that snow I saw the UP getting?

We had a Wed storm and then a Sunday storm that brought the snow depth in the yard to almost 33"!

The wed storm was very moisture laden snow and underneath it all, was slush and then water (when removing it). The Sunday storm was a bit better, but still heavy snow.

Both storms were heavy and this has caused the total snow depth to compact and settle quite a bit since then.

But yeah, lots of snow here.

Lol. When I mess up I usually just shove both feet in at once to get it over with. :)

I would agree with bogieb on this one. Take the high road and ignore it. Working in a school where everyone reacts to every text they receive - good or bad - and the drama that results makes me really leery of texting anyone. Especially with auto-correct doing its thing.

Not sure if you are asking for advice
But I would just ignore it
I worked in the public sector for 33 years and in doing so I developed a teflon skin. Nothing sticks. Period.

Feel for you schlot I got a sister like that... I find it easier to love her with less contact, sad but It is what it is. My motto is I don’t need to crawl into the pigpen to know that poop stinks

That's probably best, considering the history.

When she realizes that she sent the text to you, she'll be embarrassed.

    Mainly venting.

Taking the high road has always served me well, especially through my divorce. My ex loved to bad mouth me to the kids, but never did I say anything bad about her.

He is a big dog, hard to imagine anything bothering him. I had a big dog (intact) that used to crawl in the snow. He loved it. Finding a place to do his business was never a problem. All ok with me as long as he kept that stuff outside.
