Processors that load a log, then use a bar/chain to cut each round off, then split... the bar/chain... anyone know what controls the speed that the bar goes through the round? Does it sense pressure somehow, what dictates this speed? It goes pretty darn fast, faster than one would cut with a chainsaw, wondering how this works. Does the chain just pull the wood through or does the bar give a certain amount (optimal) of down pressure?
Most of the processors I deal with the operator controls the down pressure with a lever or joystick the saws run at a set speed and all use processor chain which is 404 or better heavy chain 080 drivers it can take a lot of power applied to it I have two customers with processors both are similar JB
