It is very tuff seeing your loved ones health get bad as they grow older. I think the memory part is the hardest thing. 289 messages = people that care.
Really nice outside today. Went for haircut then stopped to pick up some venison I had made into sausage. Dang, open from 1:00 to 6:00
I like that show but haven't had a chance to watch it lately. There was another show I used to watch called "Gold Fever" with Tom Masse. I come from a mining engineering family - iron ore. There is some talk now about more serious non-ferrous mining development in northern Minnesota precambrian shield areas.
Celebrating 60th birthday this evening by earning 2nd degree black belt. Two cement blocks fell victim to AARP fury.
yooperdave Thanks. I began Back in the late 80’s but took it up in earnest about 7 years ago. Helped chase down and tackle a sex offender with a warrant last year. Tackled him in a busy street. All the young pups were pretty stoked I was taking care of business. Two other agencies arrived at the end of it. I suspect they were thinking “my fat boss sucks”
damm...just woke up to find a text from my sister saying bow my brother and I did a worse job in raising our kids in comparison to her. Absolutely no idea how the conversation started. I think she didn't realize it was a group text (about when we were all getting together for Chistmas) from her daughter that included my brother and myself. No idea where to go from here.
I'm sorry. Some sisters (or women in general) can do all kinds of warped thinking to make themselves feel better or appear better than others. I do believe most of them do it because they need to bolster their not so admirable selves to better than they are. Atleast in my experience. Great, let's get stuff going before the Holiday's and ruin them for everyone. WTG sis
Maybe that's it. Just completely out of the blue. I've never made any comments about her children, my niece and nephew who I think highly of and get along really well with. Odd. Just very unexpected. I suppose the appropriate response would NOT be "Thanks sis, glad the Christmas spirit is filling your heart too."
How about... "Hi sis... looks as though your phone has been hacked. Merry Christmas to you and the family"...
I'll probably be in the minority, but I say just ignore it. Maybe it is a drunk text, maybe her phone auto-corrected something else she was trying to say, maybe she is in a really low spot right now. Just let it be.
I'd go with some kind of extremely sarcastic response that belittles her, and then chalk it up as one less gift to have to buy.
