I had thought of cutting it off the root ball, tying a rope to it and the truck to get her down but the buck a chunk worked okay.

Soon as I started reading this thread I knew a good "sum beach" reply but alas, too late...

    Nice rounds stack! :stack:

I do a bit of trail maintenance for mtb/hiking/equestrian trails, especially after storms. We have a lot of situations like this where multiple trees are snagged. Makes it fun and challenging. Last time I ended up hiking in twice, 2 miles with a come-a-long to pull a tree away from another. No motorized access, even on my quad...trail was too narrow.

Reddingnative you can’t borrow a good horse?
20 years ago I was looking at a large parcel of land. That was a overgrown farm that had been out of production.I met the realtor the night before for coffee to discuss it. And he’s like oh we can’t use for wheelers. My response the name of your company is Dusty trails realtor with a horse on it. Why don’t we take horses? We did it was a great memory

We had 3-4 inches of snow last night with temps in the 20's overnight. Split for an hour and fifteen minutes this afternoon. X27 did most of the work. Isocore halved the bigger rounds to make lifting easier on my old back. No wavy grain on this one Horkn and they split like cake Stoveaclaus. Forgot how easy frozen wood split and ho much i enjoy splitting in the cold. Dont like the snow though but a few inches not too bad. IMG_1459.JPG

Wow that beech is great looking wood! I have a bit here and there in the stacks but not much. I bet that turns into great long heat.
