Put some lights up outside and inside today. One more round to go and that should be it. I'm trying to explain to 99 that the snow will compact and settle a bit and it shouldn't be that miserable for the outside lights then. I'm thinking right around the first week of May should be good!
I had a weird occurrence with my Absolute Steel this morning. I had the stove loaded with maple, and chugging away for a while, bypass closed, and air dialed back as usual. I was outside for a bit shoveling and plowing when I smelled smoke, which made me look at the chimney and see it smoking. I thought that it must have stalled, but when I went in to check it was still cruising along with an orange catalyst. It stopped smoking after a bit. First time I've noticed this issue.
Don't no about your stove but I here NH got plenty of snow in places. Got lucky at home with just 6in.
Got home tonight and the Christmas Laser light that projects spinning snowflakes on the house wasn't working. Grrrr. The timer is working. I'll have to check this out. It's been great for 2 years. I need to get lights on my ariens tractor. I have the wires on the harness marked after I swapped the newer engine and it's wiring harness into it. I had to use a headlight on my head to light the way to clean up the branches from the fir tree that fell. I got all of the big branches hauled away. I also got our tree in the house tonight. The house smells awesome. We went with the Michigan Grand Fir again like last year. They hold their needles well, smell great, have sturdy boughs, and are not stupid priced like some trees.
The fridge though. That smells like awesome home made guacamole with a lot of garlic and onion in it.
Storm is moving on. Should move on to Canada during the night. Son has done most of clean up plowing and digging out. As usual, I don't step out the door until it is all done and cleaned up. Best way for me to help is not to contribute to the problems.
