I finally got my knee brace off from the surgery in September. I originally messed it up in May so all summer has been slow going for me. I was able to get all the wood cut for 20 / 21 and get this years moved up to the woodshed by the house. I got cleared a week ago to start therapy and real exercise... I did get out in the woods for about an hour today to get back to clearing out the underbrush in an 8 acre area we are going to plant in walnut next spring. I got way behind this year on that over this stupid flip flop down the stairs fiasco... I also got the "new to me" wood cutting truck tuned up with new plugs and coil packs, wow does it run way better now. I welded up some beater running boards and built a headache rack with sideboards for it over the last couple of weekends. I made them out of Locust and I'll probably stain them next summer with used motor oil after they dry out good. The boards were just cut green this summer while I was hobbling around. It feels way gooder to get back out in the woods and actually cut stuff instead of just standing in front of the garage revving up my chainsaws and dreaming... LOL My mods don't look all that cool, but I'm way more about function than looks... LOL I'm happy to have that spare tire up out of the way too. Those hangers under the rear are a PITA. I need to get the splitter fired up too. I have about 10 cord of rounds down in the pasture and over by the big barn that need split. A lot of that is honey locust but there is a mix in there as well. The 20/21 stuff is already split with top cover including a lot of Locust, Beech, and Ironwood.
"I'm way more about function than looks" ... yup, yes & ayuh... I've put my spare in the cap for the same reason... pita to get it out from under. I can relate to getting back at it... I'm hoping to haul out some logs on snow again, this winter. Been too long. Your truck looks great MAF143

They're OK so far. I got it from work. It was our old truck for plowing the parking lot in the winter. It only has 78,000 miles on it. Prior to that it was owned by one of the large farm centers close to here that sells and works on IH equipment. It got beat up a bit in those days, but runs good for now with the tune up. No ticks or weases yet. The seat has a tear in it on the drivers side and I'm trying to talk the wife into patching it for me. She handed me a big curved needle and some heavy thread... I'll remember that next time she wants one of her sewing machines worked on... LOL I had a 97 F-150 with the 4.6 V6 and one of the manifolds on it developed a tick after the engine was replaced... I liked that truck till the motor started knocking and seized up on the way home from the airport in the middle of the night... It just kinda fell apart in a lot of ways after that... We had a big tree blow over on it and totalled it out... I was happy about that believe it or not... I had a 97 Ram after that and it was pretty good till it just started rusting apart and developed the tranny shudder at about 210,000 miles... I'm hoping this one will last me a long time. LOL It came with a nice snow plow and I got a great deal on it. This happened before the woodshed got built. July of 2012

Thanks all for the encouragement, my knee is feeling a little bit better every day. I'm sticking to the excercises that the therapy group gave me and they seem to be working well. I'm a firm believer in keep moving and sticking with the program. This Thanksgiving season always gets me thinking about all the good I've had in my life. We all have adversities to overcome and that is always assisted by the encouragement and kind words from others. Bless you all and your families and friends during this Holiday season.
