I’ll probably be stopping in a pawn shop tomorrow that has had a dolmar saw for sale the Last two times I was in there. probably been there for six months now. I’m Thinking it’s a 6400 (Is there such a thing) I’m not 100% sure what model it is,I don’t know anything about dolmars . It just seemed like it might be priced pretty reasonable, although I can’t remember what they were asking for it. What would Be a fair price if its in fair enough shape?and if that’s not an actual model what might it be?

6400 is older PS 6400 is the newer model 6421 is a cat saw. 64 cc good power. Easy cylinder swap to make it a 7900 (79 cc) for more power in the same weight. Good saws overall.

Depends on the model to get an approximate age. New is up around $800 when I last looked but it's been a while. Depends on condition and how it loks and runs. If it is rough a few hundred dollars maybe. If it's fairly new and clean in good condition 400 to 500 wouldn't be unreasonable.

Now I’m thinking it was a 6100, is there such a model?? Seems like it was marked $300.

They’re all called PS if it’s a red Dolmar. The blue Makita equivalents are labeled DCS. Currently, the only thing available new is Makita and they’re red with the EA prefix.

New, the 6400 and it’s variants were about $550. 7900’s are around $800. 6100 around $550 as well

From what I’ve noticed, the 3-numbered saws are homeowner saws. 4 numbers are pro quality

421 is a pro type saw with removable cyl ect...I had miller port mine and it runs very strong...the saws are made in Germany unlike stihl china shop saws...
If you can get it for a good price you will love it...and if your into some mods it will really respond...

If it’s a 6400, I’d be ok with $200 with a bar and chain. Seems low, but that’s what they go for used around here.

Also- see if the owner lets you wiggle the crank.

Yes, there's a 6100. Great saw from what I've heard. I love my dolmar/ Makita 6421 that I bought from home Depot as an ex rental saw. I believe mine was right around $300 barely used. It's an $800 saw. It outperforms my friends Stihl magnum460 which is a 78cc saw. We use the same 20" chain. It's also lighter than the magnum 460,: and can be made into an 80 or 85 cc saw easily. This is stock by the way, with stock catalytic converter in the muffler.

They say that. I honestly couldn’t tell. I didn’t set 1 next to the other to compare though

Thats a 90s early 2000s model, wouldn't spend any more than $150 if it checks out good. I have a 112 from the 80s and a 115i new in 98 still run great, but it's definitely not new. Looks like the front bar mount stud is pulling out, common problem PIA to fix right.
