    Hello
Trying to figure out what works best without being to abrasive?
I just started out low with ARMEX soda blast media with a really black sooty brick. I cleaned the top edge. Is another media better?

Ive lightly wire brushed mine, but you should be able to pick up split 1" fire bricks pretty cheaply locally for 3-4 bucks each

    Hello
Yes those bricks are common and easy to buy new ones but I need to pay for my blasting cabinet somehow?
So cleaning them and also blasting designs and then filling the etchings with black paint may be a whole new product for Harman stoves.!
    How does this idea look?

    BTW
I started low on the hardness scale with soda blasting a firebrick that was black with soot! It did not seem to get all the Black off, it may have been ok if the brick was just brown. I just got some walnut shells which is about 4 on the hardness scale and will try that next. :)

Brand spankin' new... 3 for 10 bucks at Lowe's.......
But a bigger question for me is..
Why do you need to even clean them?
    What are you burning?
    These are 4 years old..
I just vac the ash off when I clean the stove occasionally.
Of course if yours are a lot older, that would explain it...

Waste time going to the store and buying more bricks? This is quick and very easy if you have this handy tool?
Looks like the winner is crystal clear in the Fire Brick Cleansing Program!
White Aluminum Oxide took it all Off!

LOL - The one I have is only $1300 new.
I got this off CL for $150 so now if I can do some jobs with it, maybe some day it will pay off?? :)

Harbor Freight has them for approx $150 brand new!
Here is one on eBay for $100 and you can get a table top one used for $35 so you do not have to spend a lot. :)

See first pic! That fire brick was black as night!
Granted my firebricks and most firebricks are not nearly that bad, but since this method works the best the bricks will come out cleaner and not have that shelf line down the bottom.
Also gives me something to do with the cabinet :)

Any soot I've had burns off with a sufficiently hot fire.
I just had some soot on my glass this evening from a log that slid forward. I turned up the stove to full blast and it evaporated quite quickly.
Maybe I just burn hotter than I should. That would explain the warped baffle plate. But it does clean the bricks!
